About Geoguardian Geoguardian - established in 2005 and presents environmental content based on satellite images and maps. This website focuses on environmental and related research interests and is regularly updated with new environmental content. I am Kithsiri Perera, and I completed my Bachelor's degree at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka (1984). Then, received an MS (1992) and a PhD(1995) in remote sensing and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) at Chiba University, Japan. Presently, I am an honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. My areas of specialisation and research interests are: land use and land cover mapping, natural disaster monitoring and mitigation, environmental remote sensing, and spatial data visualisation, including web mapping. Environmental Remote Sensing lecturers for school children: I am happy to conduct face-to-face lectures to School Children around SEQ, QLD region or online to any school in the world on "Environmental Remote Sensing".
